Something new and very special has been added to Back Country Cottages to help us serve you better. Tucked into the heart of the property, George’s Spot is a simple, welcoming place where guests can stop in for breakfast, lunch, coffee, and light snacks before heading out for the day’s adventure.
Whether you’re preparing for a morning of fishing, paddling the lake, hiking the trails, or simply enjoying the quiet, the café offers convenient and comforting options to start your day.

George’s Spot is big on fresh, easy meal options perfect for guests on the go. Offerings will include:

We are thrilled to introduce a trial menu for George’s Spot Cafe! Join us for our opening weekend:
- Saturday, July 4 & Sunday, July 5 | 8:30 am – 7:00 pm
Our Seasonal Hours (Through Mid-November):
- Friday – Sunday: 8:30 am – 7:00 pm
- Mid-Week: Open daily for registered cabin guests.

Group Reservations & Events
Looking for a mid-week gathering? We are happy to accommodate groups of 6 or more outside of our standard weekend hours. Please provide at least 2 days’ advanced notice so we can prepare a great experience for you.

Why “George’s Spot”?
The café is named in honour of George Winter (my dad and co-founder of Back Country Cottages), whose spirit of hospitality and connection inspired the idea of creating a space where people could gather, share stories, and enjoy simple comforts together.
In many ways, George’s Spot reflects the heart of Back Country Cottages — a place where people slow down, connect with nature, and enjoy the company of others.
