Something new — and very special — is coming to Back Country Cottages this summer.
We’re excited to announce that George’s Spot, our small onsite café, will be opening in June 2026 to serve our guests during their stay at the lake.
Tucked into the heart of the property, George’s Spot will be a simple, welcoming place where guests can stop in for breakfast, lunch, coffee, and light snacks before heading out for the day’s adventure.
Whether you’re preparing for a morning of fishing, paddling the lake, hiking the trails, or simply enjoying the quiet, the café will offer convenient and comforting options to start your day.

George’s Spot will focus on fresh, easy meal options perfect for guests on the go. Offerings will include:

Why “George’s Spot”?
The café is named in honour of George Winter (my dad and co-founder of Back Country Cottages), whose spirit of hospitality and connection inspired the idea of creating a space where people could gather, share stories, and enjoy simple comforts together.
In many ways, George’s Spot reflects the heart of Back Country Cottages — a place where people slow down, connect with nature, and enjoy the company of others.

Back Country Cottages has always been about creating a peaceful escape — a place where guests can unplug, explore the outdoors, and reconnect with what matters most.
George’s Spot will add another layer to that experience — a cozy stop for a warm coffee, a quick bite before a paddle, or a relaxed lunch after a morning on the water.
